Story
On the 1st December 2024, the three of us left Keswick Moot Hall on a journey to climb all 214 Wainwright fells in the Lake District mountains in a single winter season.
We will brave the snowfalls, the frosts, the icy winds and storms and experience a winter on the high fells across all 4 corners of the Lake District. After climbing the equivalent of 6 Mount Everests from sea level and walking around 500 miles, we plan to finish our journey on Catbells and return to Keswick Moot Hall sometime in late February, hopefully before our challenge deadline of 28th February.
In undertaking this huge winter journey, we have come to appreciate more than ever this truly unique and special fell landscape and would like to put something back. The Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association - which covers all 12 of the Mountain Rescue Teams in the Lakes - is an incredible organisation and charity that is particularly close to us and our journey. We would like to raise some funds for the Mountain Rescue teams who do such an amazing job in often the most appalling and hazardous conditions.
Thank you for following our journey across the mountains and for all your kind support here - it means a lot.
