Story
On 12th September, I’ll be taking on one of the biggest physical challenges I’ve ever attempted—a 10km open water swim. It will be tough, but every stroke will be for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
I’m raising money for SUDEP Action, a charity that means so much to me and my family, in memory of my cousin, Adam. Adam tragically died at just 22 years old from suspected Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). He was taken from us far too soon, and the loss has left a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved him.
Before Adam’s death, many of us had never even heard of SUDEP. Tragically, too many families only learn about it after losing someone they love. SUDEP Action works tirelessly to raise awareness, provide support for families affected by epilepsy, and fund vital research that could help prevent future deaths.
This swim is my way of honouring Adam’s memory and supporting a charity that is working to make sure fewer families have to experience the heartbreak that ours has endured. The months of training, early mornings, and challenging swims are nothing compared to what so many families live with every day.
If you’re able to support me, no matter the amount, I would be so grateful. Every donation will help SUDEP Action continue its life-changing work, raising awareness, supporting those affected, and funding research that offers hope for the future.
Adam is my why 🧡
