Our chosen charity is The Childhood Cancer Parents Alliance, CCPA.

We were introduced to this charity when we attended their Gold Ribbon Ball in November 2024. We did not know much about the charity. However, at the ball we learnt what fantastic support they give to parents in our area that have children living with cancer.

It was heart-warming and emotional to hear the families talk about living with cancer. The charity supports the parents in many ways, with anything from holidays, day trips, support with patient needs or something as small as a coffee voucher.

We were so touched by the charities work, we pledged on the night to raise £1000 this year.

Our first fundraiser will be a 17 mile walk, on 13th July we will walk around Rutland water. For some of us, this will prove to be quite a challenge as 17 miles is not just a Sunday stroll. However challenging it will be for us, this is nothing as challenging as what the families face everyday with their cancer journey.
