A team of questionable runners taking on 10K for an incredible cause
More than 1 in 10 children in the UK can be denied a carefree childhood due to serious illness. Over The Wall Camp empowers children and families to explore new possibilities to rediscover the fun and magic of childhood through transformational, free-of-charge residential and online activities.
On 14th June, we’re taking on the 10K Wolf Run as a team in support of Over The Wall, a brilliant Derby-based charity.
We’ve set ourselves a target of £250 each, and together we’re determined to drag (and probably carry!) each other over the finish line. We’re a mixed-ability group – and to be honest, a few of us are a bit broken and not exactly built for running – but that’s exactly why we’re doing it. Between us we’ve got dodgy knees, questionable fitness levels, and very little running experience – but plenty of determination!
Over The Wall provides free, life-changing experiences for children and young people living with serious illnesses and disabilities, along with support for their families. They create a world of mischief, magic, and adventure where children can just be children.
So while 10K through mud, water, and obstacles will be tough for us, it’s nothing compared to the challenges these children face every day.
