In 1988, a group of community and congregational volunteers formed Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. Homes were rehabbed and eventually new homes were built. ReStore was added in 2004 and Home Repair Ministry in 2008. 200 homes and 300 plus repairs later, our focus remains on ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to own and live in safe and affordable housing. Everyone is invited to partner with us as a volunteer, sponsor, donor or advocate. Only with your hands, time, and donations can we work towards fulfilling our vision of a world in which everyone has a decent place to live.

Story

For my annual birthday fundraiser, I'm asking for everyone to join in my belated celebration by donating to Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. I've chosen this nonprofit because their mission empowers and impacts our community by providing affordable housing for ALL. I hope you'll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help and I personally will match dollar for dollar up to $500 in order to raise $2,500 to Women Build. Again, I will be volunteering with friends for Women Build to honor my late grandmothers, Molene Baker and Evelena Shinaul who's legacy of being Black, women homeowners in Toledo has impacted my life immensely. Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity’s mission of seeking God’s love in action bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope epitomizes everything that my praying grandmothers stood for and instilled in my entire family. It is a pleasure to be able to serve our community and volunteer at Women Build to honor their legacy.
