Biggleswade Art Trail · 8 March 2025

Refuge opened the world’s first refuge in West London in 1971. We support thousands of women & children every day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.

Story

On March 8th, 2025, we participated and ran a stall in the Biggleswade Art Trail as a challenge to raise awareness and funds for this crucial cause. Our target is to raise £1,000 to support Refuge's life-saving work. By sponsoring us today, you are not just contributing financially; you are helping to save and transform the lives of thousands of women and their children who desperately need our support. Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Every day, countless women face the harrowing reality of domestic abuse, with one in four experiencing it at some point in their lives. Tragically, on average, one woman is killed every five days in England and Wales by a current or former partner.

This is where Refuge steps in as a beacon of hope. As the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual, and gender-based abuse, Refuge operates the freephone, 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline. This vital service offers the first step for women seeking to escape their abusive situations.
