Crazy Hat Sponsored Walk · 7 May 2025

We provide specialist end-of-life care, and a wide range of support services, to over 1,200 people who are living with a life-limiting illness in the Wigan Borough. Many patients are cared for in their own homes, although we also care for people living in care homes and in our In-Patient Unit.

Story

As some of you may know, one of our own Woodland family members Anna has battled cancer and successfully overcome it. To celebrate her recovery and raise funds for Wigan and Leigh Hospice, we are organizing a "Crazy Hat Day" fundraiser.

Anna has chosen Wigan and Leigh Hospice as they have been a great source of support for her throughout a very difficult time.

Anna - "Wigan and Leigh Hospice is an amazing place and has supported me through my recovery. I have had a lot of my aftercare at the Hospice and the teams there are amazing. This event is such a lovely thing to be arranged and will be so much fun. I have missed the children so much while I've been away from nursery and it's great to be back."

This cause is especially close to our hearts after everything Anna has been through. We hope you’ll all join us in supporting this meaningful event.

We are asking all children who will be attending on Wednesday 7th may to come into nursery wearing a Crazy Hat this could be bought or homemade. We will also be taking part in a sponsored walk as a whole nursery around the grounds of Damhouse wearing our crazy hats. Sponsor forms will be sent home with children. If your child doesn't attend on this day but you still wish to donate we would greatly appreciate this.
