Team Walk 3000km throughout September 2025

In September 2021 we launched a Surgical Neonatal Appeal to support the building of a brand new surgical neonatal unit at Alder Hey. Our new Appeal is for a state-of-the-art unit for newborn babies - and their families

Story

🩷Walking for Tiny Fighters💙

Supporting the Liverpool Neonatal Partnership

This year, two of our cherished colleagues, Charlotte and Emma, welcomed premature twins — Charlotte had twin girls, Frankie and Mila. Emma had twin boys, James and George.

Tragically, baby Mila and baby James were too precious for this world and passed away far too soon. Their memories will always stay with us. ❤️

Frankie and George, have shown incredible resilience. Thanks to the expert and compassionate care from the team at Liverpool Women’s Neonatal Unit, both Frankie and George are now home.

To honour all four babies, we’re walking 3,000 km as a team throughout September, raising funds for the Liverpool Neonatal Partnership.

Donations will help to provide over and above enhancements and equipment for both the clinical space and family areas, elevating the new Neonatal unit from a facility that provides families with a safe and secure environment for their new-borns, to a truly world-class facility that wraps-around families with the most vulnerable babies in the region. Specialist neonatal staff from Liverpool Womens Hospital will work alongside Alder Hey staff at the new NICU ensuring that poorly babies are transferred between the two hospitals as little as possible.

The charity aims to raise £3 million towards this vital £19.6 million facility — and every donation helps.

Please support us if you can.

For Mila, for James, for Frankie and George — and for every tiny fighter. 💙💗
