Phil, Jan and Ronnie, members of the PMRGCAuk Worthing support group, have been walking a marathon in July to support the valuable work done by PMRGCAuk.

Update 31st July: the three of us have been walking together once a week and, including individual walks in between, we’ve each managed to complete the 26.2 miles in spite of having to battle against high winds, rain and scorching sunshine!! We’ve been absolutely bowled over by the messages of support and generous donations from friends, family and fellow-sufferers, and are amazed to see that we’ve raised (to date) £1260, more than double our original target. Thank you all so much.

PMRGCAuk is the only UK charity dedicated to PMR and GCA. They provide information, support and reassurance to people with either of these conditions and help to raise awareness in the medical world and in the general population so that people can get a speedier diagnosis if they have either of the conditions.

Both conditions can be life changing. Without prompt diagnosis and treatment, GCA can cause sudden onset blindness or stroke. Getting a prompt diagnosis and treatment is vital.
