Wren's litter pick for Time 4 Children

James Vyner is raising money for Time 4 Children

Litter picking

Time 4 Children is a small Mid Sussex charity with a passion and commitment to increasing the emotional well-being of our young children between the ages of 4 and 12. Once a week, a one hour session of Emotional Listening Support is given to children where they can explore their worries, fears, anxieties and experiences with a trained volunteer practitioner. Most children have between 15 and 20 sessions. The service we provide is FREE. We believe that improving the emotional well-being of our young children can help prevent the need for mental health intervention later on. Giving early emotional support to children under the age of 12, makes a real difference to their lives, families and education. Every year we help around 40 children, giving them the long term one-to-one support they desperately need to increase emotional resilience, self-confidence and self-esteem. With our support children feel better about who they are and what they can achieve as they develop a sense of self. Children can be released from being caught in a bubble of anxiety and worry.

Story

Wren is planning to pick up 10 large bin bags of rubbish from the roads around Newick, in order to raise money for Time 4 Children (a local charity who provide emotional support).

Wren has been increasingly concerned with the environment and wanted to do something to help, in his own words:

"I felt like whenever I drive anywhere I just see piles and piles of rubbish. I felt like there was a change to be made. So I thought to myself - how could I make a big change for not only myself, but also for other people in need. I decided to raise money to do exactly that. I felt like it was a very very very important thing to do. All the money I'm raising will go straight to charity to help support local kids."

He's planning to start the litter pick soon and aims to finish by the end of the Easter Holidays.
