Not 3 peaks but 6! An intrepid group of Westcottians and friends are taking on the “Six Mole Hill Challenge” a 26-mile marathon walk, through Mole Valley in the Surrey Hills, raising funds for Westcott Village Hall!

Needing to urgently raise funds for the Westcott village hall redevelopment, inspired by the infamous 3 Peaks Challenge, and living in Mole Valley in the Surrey Hills, we came up with the concept of the "Six Mole Hill Challenge"! While our peaks are not quite in the league of Snowdon, Scarfel or Ben Nevis, they are nonetheless challenging in the ascent (over 4,000ft on the 26 Mile route!). Our group of walkers are bravely striding out through the unpredictable October weather, hoping to complete the 26 mile walk in around 11 hours. Some of the walkers will join for half the distance (13 miles) taking on the first 3 of the hills.

All our walkers are either Westcott residents or their friends and family. If you ask people why they are doing the walk, they generally say supporting our village community is really important to them. The village hall rebuild project is the biggest community infrastructure project we've seen in several generations; supporting it is our chance to make a difference to the future Westcott community.

For most of our walkers this is a big personal goal, many are doing a marathon or half marathon distance for the first time. Your support is therefore massively appreciated; it sends a strong message to our intrepid walkers "keep going, we support you!" It also sends a message to our tireless village hall trustee team to say, "keep going, we support you too" in their work to secure funding and deliver the new hall!

Thank you so much for supporting the walkers and helping us take a big step closer to having a new village hall.
