Thank you for considering donating to my fundraiser! I will be taking part in the Great South Run on behalf of Wild Wolf Explorer Scout Unit (WWESU) where I am a volunteer Leader. The money raised will go towards supporting the Unit's hardship fund, and helping us make longer term plans to support our Explorers. You can read more about who we are and how your donation helps below.

WWESU is an Explorer Scout Unit with 93 young members based in North London, providing young people aged 14-18 with opportunities to get out into the wilderness, take part in adventurous activities, and develop self-reliance and teamwork skills. We run Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions by canoe, go hiking in the UK's mountainous areas and teach more 'traditional' Scouting skills along the way - archery, air rifles, first aid, and climbing being just some of them. WWESU runs weekend and longer camps throughout the year, and we have travelled all over the UK and parts of Europe. Some of the Unit have been lucky enough to visit Japan, North America, and South Korea as part of the UK Contingent for World Scout Jamborees. The Unit is run entirely by a volunteer Leadership team.

As I'm sure you can imagine, running a great programme doesn't always come cheap! However we strongly believe that money should not be a barrier to taking part in our activities, and WWESU is very proud to keep costs as low as possible, and offer a comprehensive hardship fund to ensure that no member misses out due to their personal financial situation.

WWESU currently own two minibuses – including a new to us B licence minibus, thanks to your kind donations last year - however sadly our old D1 workhorse is slowly heading towards the great scrapyard in the sky, and we are anticipating needing to replace it. This bus is particularly key as it allows us to actually transport the Explorers and equipment that we need to run such good camps!

This year your generous donations will be split between topping up the hardship fund, maintaining our equipment, and lastly helping us fund a new minibus.
