As a family and company, we are committed to donating and raising funds in support of UPMC Children’s. Your donations on this fundraising page will help to elevate treatment and research, improve access to care, and address the most pressing needs of children and families. In support of these priorities, our primary goal is to establish and expand an endowment to support transportation for families facing socioeconomic hardship and barriers to accessing care.

For our family and in our work, we recognize that transportation is fundamental to so many aspects of life.

In our medical journey, we have been grateful that access to experts in health care is often just a short drive down the road to one of the country’s top recognized pediatric hospitals, UPMC Children’s.

We were heartbroken to learn that each year at UPMC Children’s there are over 5,000 missed appointments because families do not have access to reliable transportation. For many children, these missed appointments will alter the trajectory of their lives.

Despite the importance of transportation, these costs are not covered by medical insurance. Many families do not have access to public transportation or reliable alternatives.

Together, we can solve this problem. We are committed to donating and raising funds to establish an endowment for transportation, so that in perpetuity there will be money dedicated to ensuring every child has access to the medical care they need.

This endowment will directly support families by providing rideshare vouchers (Lyft rides) to and from medical appointments. The average round trip cost is $55. Your support will help to ensure that children can access life-saving treatments for conditions like asthma, cancer, and genetic disorders, which may otherwise be out of reach.

With your donation you help remove one of the most significant obstacles to the health and well-being of our community’s most vulnerable children, making a profound difference in their lives and futures.
