Wyke Gals fundraiser for OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity

Hollie Rhodes is raising money for OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity
OSCAR's are running at the Yorkshire Marathon Festival to raise money for children with brain tumours and their families. You can create your fundraising page here and find out how close we are to our target of £10,000 for the event on Oct 18th 2026

Story

We’re the Wyke girls, and we come as a pack!

We love a challenge, so after Hollie and Demi took on and completed the London Marathon in 2025, and Sammie went on to complete the Prague Marathon in 2026—with all the Wyke gals helping, supporting and keeping them going through training—we wanted to come together once again, this time to raise money for a cause that’s incredibly close to Hollie’s heart.

We’re fundraising in particular for Roux Owen, who was born with a brain tumour and has defied the odds, living life in his own incredible way despite facing many challenges and complex health issues, including epilepsy and cerebral palsy.

His resilience, strength and determination are truly inspiring, as is that of his amazing family, Amy, Antony and big brother Noah.

We want to do whatever we can to support them, raise vital funds and, just as importantly, help raise awareness of Roux’s story. Because when the Wyke girls come together, we come as a pack—and we’re always up for a challenge!

OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity are taking on the Yorkshire Marathon/Yorkshire 10-Mile course to raise money to support children with brain tumours and their families, raise awareness of signs and symptoms of this terrible disease, and fund research into better and kinder treatments.

We have run every year since Oscar Hughes died of a brain tumour aged just 9. The charity that bears his name has helped so many other children in the same situation and the team taking on the run are doing so to help even more.
