Story
On 6th June 2026, a group of family and friends will set out to complete the Three Peaks Challenge within 24 hours, climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in memory of our dear friend, Claire Browne.
Claire was one of those rare people who could light up a room the moment she walked into it. Her warmth, energy, kindness and infectious laugh made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her. She was brilliant, compassionate, fiercely determined, and always ready to take on a challenge.
In true Claire fashion, she had signed up to take on the Three Peaks Challenge herself. It was exactly the kind of adventure she would have embraced wholeheartedly and, knowing Claire, probably completed with very little preparation and a huge smile on her face.
Tragically, Claire passed away suddenly before she had the opportunity to complete the challenge. So now, we're doing it for her.
Over 24 hours, we will climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), carrying Claire's spirit with us every step of the way.
We are raising money for Solent Mind, a charity that provides vital mental health support to people across our community. Mental health is something that touches so many lives, and supporting this cause feels like a fitting way to honour Claire's legacy of kindness, compassion and helping others.
For us, this challenge also holds an additional personal significance. The year before, we lost another much-loved friend, Jonny Doughty. While undertaking this event in memory of Claire, we will also be remembering Jonny throughout the challenge and reflecting on the importance of mental health support for everyone.
This challenge is about much more than climbing mountains. It is about celebrating Claire and Jonny's lives, honouring their memory, supporting an important cause, and helping others who may be facing their own challenges.
If you are able to donate, no matter how much, we would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution helps Solent Mind continue its vital work supporting people experiencing mental health difficulties.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page and helping us spread the word.
Together, we can honour Claire's memory, remember Jonny, support Solent Mind, and help make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Thank you for your support.
