Story
Xavier White wishes to express his gratitude for nurses by raising money for the Cavell Trust, cycling 10k a circular route around the grounds of the Bethlem Royal Hospital, Beckenham Kent.
Xavier is a head injury survivor, starting his rehabilitation on the neurology ward at the Maudsley in 1985. Then returning with his Xavier White’s Full Circle Exhibition in 2014.
This connection continues through becoming an Artist volunteer at Bethlem Gallery. During his time there, in addition to showing his Cohedia, Large Canvas, at the Utopia 2016 exhibition, Xavier was asked to represent the Museum of the Mind, for the Museum of the Year award, and featured on BBC’s Artsnight coverage.
Xavier became the first artist in residence at the School of Health and Social Care, London South Bank University with the mental health-nursing students and produced several exhibitions at LSBU. Leading onto make & install, ‘In Loving Memory’, a stained glass fanlight’s scheme in tribute to his long term friend and nurse Jo Mead, Kings College Hospital, and for the NHS’s 70th anniversary.
