Story
Well, that was brutal.
Training on a bike that I found out was a fair bit too small for me.
Returning to the saddle 39 years after my last foray, which was only to the shops.
My regime has included taking two weeks working out how to adjust the saddle and going up a stone in weight which I am sure I read wasn't meant to happen.
I didn't circulate a single route on Strava and don't own any lycra.
But the event itself was inspiring. So many incredible charities. And the cyclists who managed to negotiate every hill and challenge, I salute you.
I did it in around 5 and a half hours apparently. The uphills were often hideous and the downhills downright scary.
But London to Brighton......we all did it.
If you haven't sponsored and would like to, please do.
Dons Local Action Group has been providing food parcels, household goods, furniture, appliances and laptops to those in need in our communities since 2020. We are large scale, high energy and even greater impact. Being Co-founder has been a life lesson and the most humbling and wonderful experience.
Please do what you can to support us. Never be in doubt that this hurt. A lot!
Thank you so much.
Love,
Xavier Wiggins (no, unfortunately no relation!)
