Story
The reason why I am raising money for The Kirkwood is I recently lost my great uncle Ashley , he passed in July 2024 aged 58, after a 2 years long battle with bowel cancer. In his last months The Kirkwood was there to help and support my family members in providing palliative care at home and give my uncle his last wish, which was to be at home. As well as my uncle Ashley , I have also lost two other members of my family my Great grandma Margaret Saville and my Grandad Ducan Longbottom . Both were able to be at home with the support of The kirkwood.
The Kirkwood is a charity that has been there when my family has needed their support and I am truly grateful and appreciate the work they have provided to my loved ones , and continue to support so many families in West Yorkshire.
This is why I am raising money for them so they can keep supporting palliative patients and there families .
Your £10 donation could fund a virtual wellbeing session for a patient living with heart failure.
A donation of £50 could pay for specialist counselling support for a patient and their family.
£100 could provide vital support to a patient in their own home from one of The Kirkwood Nurses.
The Kirkwood are here to support anyone affected by a life limiting illness, every step of the way. Right now, over 3,000 people in Kirklees are living with an illness from which they will not recover. Your support means we’re here for them.
