Story

On Saturday 10th October '26, Lauren, Amelia, Shelley and Marie will be walking 24 miles in 12 hours, climbing the iconic Yorkshire 3 Peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

We will be walking in honour of Callum, who we devastatingly lost at the end of April. He spent his last few weeks being cared for by the team at Willow Wood and Callum loved the mountains so this feels like a fitting way to help them raise money.

It costs around £10,000 per day to run the Willow Wood Hospice, so raising money for them is needed more than ever.

The cost of providing hospice services is increasing, while ever more people need palliative care. It’s free at the point of use but, unlike in the NHS, it is not fully state funded, receiving only 24% of the running costs from the government. Willow Wood Hospice relies on the generosity of the public to raise the remaining three quarters of its annual costs via fundraising activities such as this.

If you can spare any amount, your donation will really make a difference to patients with any life-limiting illness and those closest to them. Thank you so much.
