Story
Nearly five years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer – an experience that completely changed my life. Mentally, physically, and emotionally, it pushed me to my limits. It’s now been around three years since I finished chemotherapy, and I can finally say I feel strong, fit, and healthy again.
The experience gave me a new perspective on life. It taught me to appreciate the little things, to live with more purpose, and most of all, it made me who I am today. I’ve become someone who is very motivated and love to push and challenge myself.
One thing I’ve always wanted to do is cycle to Paris, so I’ve decided to go from my home town Lincoln (450miles and camping along the way) And now, I’m finally ready to make it happen. I’m doing it in support of Macmillan Cancer Support – an organisation that was there for me when I needed help the most. They continue to support thousands of people going through the hardest times of their lives, and I want to give back in whatever way I can.
Not everyone wins their battle with cancer. That’s why I chose that this ride isn’t just for me — it’s for every warrior out there, past and present. Every donation, big or small, means the world. And if you’re unable to donate, even a like, share, or comment helps spread the word to people and organisations who can.
I’ll be posting regular updates on my journey over on Instagram and TikTok – follow me @yamitboyyy to come along for the ride! 💚
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, and every one of them needs the best support to meet their unique needs.
That's why Macmillan will do whatever it takes to help everyone living with cancer across the UK get the support they need right now and transform cancer care for everyone who will be diagnosed in the future.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving, once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
