Story
🏊♀️ Victorian Pool Crawl 2026 🏊♀️
I am joining a team of 10 committed swimmers from Leith Victoria to take on an ambitious one-day challenge to support a brilliant cause.
What is a "Pool Crawl"?
Despite the name, this isn't a pub tour! It is a massive multi-venue aquathlon. Our mission is to visit every single one of Edinburgh’s historic Victorian swimming pools in a single day:
Dalry, Glenogle, Warrender, Portobello, and Leith Victoria.
We will swim 1km in each pool (5km total) and walk 16km carrying our gear between them. We love swimming, but combining it with a long-distance walk across the city will definitely test our endurance!
The Details
The challenge takes place on Easter Monday, 6 April 2026. Every pound raised goes directly to Edinburgh Leisure’s Active Communities programme.
Why we are fundraising
Edinburgh Leisure is a charity dedicated to helping people lead healthier lives. The Active Communities programme uses sport to tackle inequality and help those who face barriers to exercise. Your donation helps them support:
- People living with long-term health conditions (like cancer or stroke).
- People with disabilities.
- Those facing poverty or social isolation.
Why This Matters to Me
Growing up, I was taught the ancient saying "a healthy mind in a healthy body" (mens sana in corpore sano). That idea has stayed with me ever since. Swimming is my way of staying active and clearing my head and I believe everyone deserves that opportunity. That's why I'm proud to support a programme that helps people facing barriers experience those same benefits.
By supporting the Leith Victorians, you are helping make physical activity inclusive and accessible for everyone in Edinburgh.
Thank you for helping us make a difference! 💙
