Story

Hello everyone and thank you for visiting my page! I’m so pleased to announce that myself and an incredible team of volunteers will be embarking on a life-changing 2-week mission to Kenya in the summer of 2025!!

The Project: Building Playgrounds, Building Futures

Each weekday morning, I’ll work alongside the Kenyan build team under the sun to transform an empty field into a vibrant playground at a local primary school. Together, we’ll mix cement, dig foundations, paint, and assemble structures to create a space where kids can safely play. In the afternoons, we’ll run creative play sessions, helping children develop problem-solving skills, spark their imaginations, and find joy in learning.

Why This Mission Matters to Me

This journey represents something I’ve felt drawn to do since I was young. After living in South Africa for three years my eyes were opened to a different way of life— both beautiful and heartbreaking in its reality. I witnessed the resilience, joy, and challenges people face daily. Since then, I’ve been hoping to pursue mission work that not only supports communities but empowers them. Our playgrounds and play programmes do exactly that:

- 98% of schools report increase in pupil attendance.

- 74% of children give 'The Playground' as a reason to attend school.

- 83% of teachers report improvements in children's attention and behaviour in classes.

How You Can Help

To make this mission possible, I need to raise £1,450 to cover essential program costs, including:

* Playground build, accommodation, food, and on-site expenses.

It’s important for me to note that 70% of the funds raised go directly to the charity and essential resources for building the playground, ensuring we maximise the impact on the local community.

Additional personal expenses include my sign up fee (£195), flights (est. £800), weekend activities (e.g. the three-day game drive in Maasai Mara, est £450), vaccinations (est. £120), and more. Any extra funds past the set goal will go toward these personal fees and help make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Whatever I don’t use I intend to donate straight to the charity.

Every Donation Brings Us Closer

Every contribution, big or small, will help bring this mission to life. Together, we can create safe play spaces for children in Kenya, inspire creativity, and make a lasting impact on a community in need. Thank you for being part of this journey with me and for helping me reach both personal and community goals.

Your generosity means the world to me—and to the children who will benefit from the playgrounds we create.

Many thanks,

Yas.
