Story
On 5 Sep I will participate in Dunav Ultra - a 700km cycling competition along the Bulgarian section of the Danube river - from the city of Vidin to the seaside. I was lucky enough to win the race back in 2021 (finishing in 37 hours) and am aiming for a time of 32 hours in this year's edition.
I will not be relying on any support and will be bringing with me all of the food and equipment required for the task. I will probably stop for a 3-hour nap at the 400km mark.
I wanted to use this opportunity to support one of my favourite charities - Children Of Bulgaria.
Children Of Bulgaria is a US-registered charity that has supported many wonderful campaigns in Bulgaria over the years. Their latest campaig is to renovate a centre for children in need of special educational support near Pleven, and a center for children with hearing impairment in Plovdiv.
You can read more about their latest campaign here: https://childrenofbulgaria.org/current-campaign/
