Team: Rust Bucket Rally fundraising for Petals

Rust Bucket Rally June 2026 · 4 June 2026

Petals specialist counselling service can be accessed by any parent affected by pregnancy or baby loss. We provide this service at no cost to parents and it is our aim to offer this vital service to all bereaved parents no matter where they live or the type of loss they have experienced.

Story

This June, we're again taking to the road with the Rust Bucket Rally: an extraordinary 2,500-mile journey across Europe in cars worth around £1,000. This is the most extreme and challenging Rust Bucket Rally to date, heading further North than ever before into the Nordics. Over five demanding days, we'll be pushing these "Rust Buckets" to their limits, all in support of an incredibly important cause.

This year holds special meaning for our team. One of our drivers, Pete, and his wife have personally experienced pregnancy loss and found vital support through Petals' specialist counselling services. Their journey through grief, guided by Petals' compassionate counsellors, has shown us first hand the life-changing impact of this charity's work.

Why Petals Matters

Petals provides specialist counselling to parents who have suffered the heart breaking loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby. These tragic experiences bring not only profound grief but also significant trauma that can feel overwhelming and isolating. Petals' highly trained counsellors offer professional, compassionate support at no cost to parents, helping them navigate their darkest moments and guiding them toward hope and healing.

Every counselling session makes a difference. Every donation helps Petals reach more bereaved parents when they need support most.

The Challenge Ahead

The Rust Bucket Rally isn't for the faint-hearted. This year's route is the most northerly the rally has ever taken, covering approximately 2,500 miles across at least 7 countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France), over five gruelling days. We'll be dealing with breakdowns, navigation challenges, and the unpredictability of driving cars that have seen better days. But every mile we drive and every challenge we overcome is nothing compared to what bereaved parents face.

Since 2014, the Rust Bucket Rally has raised nearly £600,000 for local charities. This June, we're determined to make a significant contribution to Petals' vital work.

Your Support Changes Lives

Your donation will directly fund counselling sessions for bereaved parents. Whether you give £10 or £100, you're helping provide the specialist support that helps families heal and find hope again.
