Year 6's fundraiser for The British Red Cross Society

Year 6's fundraiser for The British Red Cross Society · 10 February 2025
This half term, Year 6 children at Cockington Primary School have been learning all about natural and human disasters, as part of their Learning Enquiry.
They have learnt about the impact that disasters can have on people and communities and the devastation they can cause.
As part of their RE lessons, the children have learnt about the fantastic work that he British Red Cross do: emergencies can strike at any time and anywhere. The British Red Cross can be there to give support to anyone affected. They provide the people, equipment, space and resources to support those affected by an emergency, helping them to recover.
To raise money for this fantastic charity, the children have imitated the Great Wave art of Hokusai (a Japanese artist) and have created beautiful pieces of art work using sketching and watercolours. They have also written haiku poems (a Japanese form of poetry) about tsunamis to accompany their art work.
They would like to 'sell' these to their families, with all the money raised being donated directly to the British Red Cross.
Many thanks in advance for your kind donations. This page will close on Friday 28th February 2025.
