Story
Twinkling lights, warm dinners, families exchanging gifts - for most of us, Christmas is a time of comfort and togetherness. But for many vulnerable young people in Hampshire, the holidays can be the hardest time of year. Instead of joy and security, they face loneliness, hunger, and cold.
Our mission is to help young people find their seam of GOLD.
We do this by providing life skills education, support and opportunities which help them to become independent, confident adults.
Young people we work with have had traumatic life experiences, which create barriers to achieving success.
Brick by Brick, We Build Stronger Futures.
We provide young people with essential life skills they need to flourish. Key areas include: Finance, Home Matters, Health and Wellbeing, Career Advice, and Relationships.
We all learn from each other in compassionate safe spaces without any judgement.
Reece’s story: from crisis to hope.
Reece never imagined he’d be homeless. But when a sudden family crisis struck, Reece’s world turned upside down. He found himself with nowhere stable to stay.
Through YBRP, Reece got a dedicated mentor and a spot in a You Matter life-skills course. He learned how to budget and take care of his well-being. More importantly, he found people who truly cared.
Every day, YBRP’s staff and volunteers are out there meeting young people in need, just like that worker who helped Reece. We help them find accommodation, connect with education or job training, and develop the skills to build an independent life.
We are often the only safety net for a youn person with nowhere else to turn. And we are determined that no young person should be left to fall through the cracks.
It is the generosity of people like you that allows us to keep our programmes running free of charge for every young person who needs help. In fact, every donation - no matter how small - truly can make a difference. Your support is the reason stories like Reece’s are possible.
By donating to YBRP’s Christmas Appeal, you directly fuel our life-changing work. To learn more about what we do, please visit: https://bit.ly/YBRP_Info
