Story
Healthy Minds is Calderdale’s local, independent mental health charity, supporting people of all ages with their emotional wellbeing. The organisation is led by people with lived experience of mental health challenges, helping ensure their support is understanding, practical and genuinely helpful.
Their mission is simple but powerful: to provide high-quality mental health support, raise awareness, reduce stigma, and empower people to take control of their wellbeing.
What they do
Healthy Minds offers a wide range of support across the local community, including:
SafeSpace – confidential, out-of-hours support for people experiencing distress
Like Minds – peer support groups and one-to-one befriending
Time Out – wellbeing support for children and young people
Welfare support – helping people manage finances and reduce stress
Community activities and drop-ins to reduce isolation and build connections
They also work closely with local partners to raise awareness and encourage open conversations around mental health, helping break down stigma across Calderdale.
Why this matters
Mental health affects everyone differently, and having accessible, local support can make a huge difference. Healthy Minds is making a real impact in our community, supporting thousands of people each year and ensuring no one has to face mental health challenges alone.
How we’ll get involved
Over the next year, we’ll be supporting Healthy Minds through a range of fundraising activities, events and awareness campaigns.
We’ll be sharing more soon on how you can get involved and make a difference.
