York Foodbank started in 2012, an initiative of churches, in response to growing numbers of people living in poverty and needing support. We meet the needs of those in local communities who are experiencing hardship or crisis situations through the provision of food and quality advice services.

Story

Staff at YHEC will be walking a 35.2-km circular trail near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire to raise founds for York Foodbank. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 8 h 42 min to complete!

YHEC as a company will match-fund up to £5,000 - so for every £1 raised by YHEC staff, the company will give a further £1. Please help us rise to the challenge of raising £1000 for York Foodbank in one day!

York Foodbank don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. They provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
