Story
Did you know that Uganda has one of the fastest growing youth populations and highest unemployment rate in Sub Saharan Africa?
We sit on the trustee board for Youth Link Networks. We are a UK registered charity but operate our projects in Uganda.
We are on mission to help 5,000 young people into employment through skills training and education by 2027.
Over the last year we’ve piloted a practical skills and education programme where 12 girls learned a vast range of sewing skills and developed business knowledge. Out of the first 6 girls, 4 are already making a weekly business profit after only 4 months, post course completion.
We are now going into the third cohort of 6 girls, then we plan to expand the project on a Bigger Level from April next year alongside other initiatives.
To get Cohort 3’s launch for September in planning motion, I’m asking for your financial support which will contribute to a sewing machine, materials and overhead costs for the programme.
