Story
I am raising money for the YMCA Annual Campaign because I’ve seen firsthand how life-changing access to childcare, programs, and safe spaces can be for families.
Every day, our YMCA supports children who need a place to learn, grow, and feel safe while their parents work. Unfortunately, not every family can afford these opportunities. My goal of $250 will help give one child the chance to attend our childcare program for a month — a place where they can build friendships, gain confidence, and just be a kid.
How You Can Help
Donate any amount — every dollar makes a difference. Our goal is $250 to help a family with childcare for a month! $500 helps TWO children.
Help us give a child the opportunity to belong, learn, and thrive, along with somewhere to go that's safe, and fun!
Why It Matters-
Childcare isn’t just supervision — it’s stability, safety, and support for families who need it most. When we invest in one child, we strengthen an entire family and community.
❤️ My YMCA Story
My YMCA story started in 2020, when the world was going through a very difficult time. COVID impacted so many families — jobs were lost, daycares closed, and uncertainty was everywhere.
At the time, I was a mom of a toddler who desperately needed a job, but also couldn’t afford childcare — and many centers weren’t even open. The YMCA opened their arms to me. They gave me the opportunity to work in childcare, and my son was able to come with me every day into a safe, clean, fun environment. It helped him escape the scary world outside, even if just for a little while.
As I later became a single mom and was struggling bills alone, the YMCA continued to support my family. They helped provide preschool for my son, along with childcare and sports opportunities as he grew. Because of them, I was able to continue working, follow my passion for helping children, and build stability for my family.
Now I have two sons who have grown up loving YMCA programs and being part of that community with me. I will never be able to thank the YMCA enough for what they’ve done for us.
That’s why I want to help another family the way we were helped.
With your support, we can make that happen.
