Story
I have been through many issues with my own mental health as my dad has been absent in my life for a long time and being diagnosed with anxiety.
However since joining army cadets and going out on walks with my mates my mental health has improved. However I have noticed many others including friends of mine, still suffer a lot. So Evie a friend from my class suggested; me and my close friends : Elliott, Jacob and Adam wanted to go out during the summer and I suggested doing it for a good cause that I agreed strongly with.
I pitched doing fundraising for Andy's Men's Club and they were all on board. I aim to promote my hike around my college of New College Pontefract and at my Army Cadet detachment.
This walk will be roughly 72 miles from Wakefield to Filey and will be over a span of 3 days. I thank Normanton Detachment and heat2eat for assisting in supplies for the event as well as everyone else.
We already reached our original goal of £500 but we decided to increase to allow more donations to come through and to not put people off from donating to a great charity that works for a great cause!
