Story
On Friday 26th June, my wonderful friend Hannah and I will be taking on a tandem skydive to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity — by throwing ourselves out of a plane from over 10,000 feet at up to 125mph!!!
We are, to put it mildly, absolutely terrified.
The skydive is in memory of my husband Jaideep who died in August 2024 after a 6½-year battle with a rare and aggressive cancer.
Jaideep was a wonderful dad to Jonah and Sami, a huge sports fan, and someone who faced every challenge with incredible strength, determination and positivity.
Thanks to everyone at the Royal Marsden, we were gifted more precious time together; more memories, more laughter, more family holidays, and countless sporting events!
Coming up to 2 years on, the boys and I miss him every day, as do all those who were fortunate enough to have known him — especially his parents, Teenu & Pradeep, his sister Neha, and his many, many friends.
You’ll Never Jump Alone ❤️
Last year, alongside a group of close friends, we trekked 26 miles across the South Downs as Team “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, raising an incredible £30,000 for the Royal Marsden.
It was emotionally and physically exhausting, but worth every blister, tear and aching muscle for such an important cause.
So it seemed only fitting that this year, I'd rope one of my fellow trekkers into doing something a little different..and a heck of a lot more bonkers..
Hannah and I will be jumping out of a plane somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 feet, free-falling at around 125mph before the parachute opens at 5,000 feet and we (hopefully) glide safely back to earth.
We are both completely terrified so any donation, encouragement, or reminder that it’s now far too late to back out would mean the world to us.
Where your donations will go – The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity
Hannah and I are covering the full cost of the skydive ourselves, meaning 100% of your donation goes directly to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
Every penny will go towards supporting pioneering cancer research, treatment and care for patients and families whose lives have been turned upside down by cancer.
Thank you so much for supporting us, remembering Jaideep, and helping us do something completely ridiculous for such an incredible cause ❤️
