Help The Avenue Cafe Grow as a Hub for Our Local Community

Young Brent Foundation is raising money for Young Brent Foundation
Young Brent Foundation was established through funding from John Lyon's Charity and City Bridge Trust in response to the ongoing challenges facing the children and young people's sector. We bring together the public, private and voluntary sector to effect positive change for young people.

Story

The Avenue Café isn’t just a coffee shop – it’s a vital part of the community.

Your donation helps sustain a warm, welcoming environment where young people gain independence, families find support, and the community comes together!

ABOUT THE AVENUE CAFE:

The Avenue Cafe is a collaborative initiative by Young Brent Foundation, Start Easy, and The Rise Partnership Trust.

More than a place to grab a coffee, the café acts as a welcoming community hub where young people, parents and local residents can connect, find respite, and access valuable support services.

It’s a vibrant, inclusive space designed to empower young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by teaching essential hospitality skills, building confidence, and supporting social and emotional well-being. By offering hands-on work experience and career guidance, The Avenue Cafe helps young people transition into employment, giving them the tools and opportunities to thrive.

At its core, The Avenue Cafe champions inclusivity, creating an environment that supports and celebrates diversity, ensuring everyone feels respected, included, and valued.

HOW YOUR DONATION CAN HELP:

We have already resourced the coffeeshop (as a consortia) with stock, equipment such as a coffeemaker fridges and Health and safety compliant washing basins. We have also equipped the shop with advertising and Makaton signage to ensure the space is accessible to young people with SEND.

Currently, our staff who operate the store are local volunteers. While this is brilliant, it is unsustainable and we would like to secure some funding to compensate them for their tireless work. We would also like to receive additional support to hold events, workshops and facilitate opening on more days throughout the week as we are only open on 2 days.

With your support, we can:

- Fund staff to keep the café running reliably

- Open more days a week (we’re currently only open two!)

- Host more community events and workshops

- Expand work experience placements for SEND students

The Avenue Café is more than just coffee – it’s a catalyst for opportunity, empowerment, and inclusion.

Donate today and help us grow this inspiring space into a full-time, fully-supported community hub!
