Story
We’re Yenny Parra and Karen Lewis from Age UK Bromley and Greenwich and we’re taking on the challenge of a 10k race to raise vital funds for the Young Onset Dementia Group held weekly at Community House, Bromley.
💙 Why This Matters
When someone is diagnosed with dementia under the age of 65, it can be devastating. Many are still working, raising families, and managing mortgages or other financial commitments. On top of that, they’re facing a life-changing diagnosis that affects every part of their lives.
Across the UK, an estimated 70,800 people live with Young Onset Dementia. Yet, support tailored to their unique needs is still limited.
🌟 A Safe Space to Connect and Thrive
The Young Onset Dementia Group in Bromley is a lifeline. It offers a safe, friendly space where people can connect, share experiences, and simply enjoy themselves. From laughter to peer support, the group makes a huge difference and with your help, we can keep it going.
💬Here’s what our members say:
“The Young Onset Dementia group gives me a reference point… it makes me feel at home and happy.”
“We laugh with each other, laugh about our own experiences. It’s good to know that we’re not alone through dementia.”
