🧡 My Wear It Orange 2025 Fundraising Story
On Friday 3rd October 2025, Yorkshire Street Medical Centre (Burnley) will be turning orange in support of The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK.
Last year, thanks to our amazing patients and staff, we raised £440 — and this year, we’re aiming even higher! (Photo: our wonderful team dressed in orange last year 🧡).
Most people have never heard of inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) — a rare, aggressive form of breast cancer that doesn’t usually present with a lump. Instead, symptoms can include redness, swelling, or skin changes known as peau d’orange (where the skin looks like orange peel).
Because of how it develops, IBC can’t be diagnosed earlier than stage 3. That makes awareness and education absolutely vital — the earlier the signs are recognised, the sooner treatment can begin.
On October 3rd, our staff will be running a flu clinic in orange, and we hope patients will join us by wearing orange and learning more about IBC. We’ll also be holding a raffle to raise vital funds for UK research and to spread the word about this little-known disease.
🧡 Please support our fundraising, help us turn October orange, and make a difference for people affected by IBC.
