Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you may know I took up adaptive rowing about 2 years ago. What I've discovered is that adaptive rowing isn’t just about adjusting to my physical limits. It's about disaovering new potential within them. While I won’t be competing at the Paralympics anytime soon, I’m proud to be an adaptive rower living with MS - and for me, that means training on the indoor rowing machine (ergo) at Maidenhead Rowing Club with one of their adaptive rowing coaches. It’s become my place of strength and flow, where I feel empowered and accomplished in my body, despite the challenges that MS brings.
Training hasn’t been easy. Rowing is hard!!! And setbacks are part of the journey and this year has been particularly tough - but I’ve just reached a personal best: 4,000m in 500m intervals! 💪 And now I’m aiming for a huge milestone of 5,000m in September.
I've turned this into a sponsored challenge “Make Every Metre Matter: Rowing to Stop MS” to raise funds for the MS Society and support their pioneering research to stop MS and the vital helpline they run that makes a huge difference to people living with this condition.
I also want to raise awareness of adaptive indoor and river rowing - it’s an amazing sport that brings strength, structure, and motivation to those of us living with disability and chronic illness.
Whether it’s a donation or a few words of encouragement, I’d be so grateful for your support. Let’s raise awareness, raise funds, and make every metre matter - for me, and for the 130,000+ people living with MS in the UK today.
Thank you so much 💜
