Each year Phoenix Running Ltd hold a draw to send one of their runners to the London Marathon. This year, to my utter amazement, my name was picked out of the bucket! So not only will I finally be running the London Marathon, I will be doing so as a representative of the Phoenix Running Community and fundraising for a rather awesome charity, Rays of Sunshine (see below for more details)

Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity exists to fulfil the wishes of children, between the ages of 3-18 in the UK, of any race or gender who are terminally or seriously ill. It also buys equipment for these children and supports the hospices, hospitals and specialist schools that care for them. The charity brightens the lives of these children and their families by granting wishes and providing ongoing support. Rays of Sunshine believes that every child deserves to experience happiness and put their illness on hold, even if it is just for one day. Their work provides a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem and creates precious memories and smiles.
