Story
This February, I'm walking one kilometre a day and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone.
I'm taking part in this challenge as we, as a family, 3 years ago lost a truly amazing man to this disease, my great-uncle. He had the biggest heart, which was full of warmth and unconditional love.
He was my hero from a young age; he taught me how to grow my own beetroot in the summer holidays.
One of the most treasured memories was when my family surprised him one Christmas with tickets to join me on The Torbay Express Steam Railtour, which ran from Bristol Temple Meads to Kingswear we had the greatest time.
When I was a young lad, he would always be super keen to join my Gran, my younger brother, and me on days out.
It would mean so much to give back to a worthy cause - any donation, big or small, would make a difference.
Just £10 can cover the telephone costs for two families seeking support through Dementia UK's free helpline.
Thank you!
Zach
