Zach's fundraiser for Juvenile Arthritis Research

EMILY MORRIS is raising money for Juvenile Arthritis Research

Junior Great South Run · 18 October 2025

As a patient- and parent-led charity, our vision is a world where no child has to suffer from arthritis. Our aims include research to find a cure for JIA, raising awareness that children and young people get arthritis and providing support to children and their families affected by JIA.

Story

As you may know, Zach was diagnosed with Still's Disease at the end of last year. He was 9 at the time. He spent a week in Southampton General Hospital, and since then, he's had weekly injections and countless blood tests. The support from the hospital staff has been nothing short of amazing, and the Juvenile Arthritis Research (JAR) team has been incredibly helpful. Inspired by this support, Zach has decided to participate in the Junior Great South Run to raise funds for this important charity.

On Saturday, 18th October 2025, Zach will be running 2.5k in Southsea. It's important to highlight that around 1 in 1,600 children in the UK are diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), and about 1 in 10 of those children have Systemic JIA or Still's Disease. This is a cause that is very close to our hearts. More information: https://www.stillsdisease.uk/

We kindly ask you to consider donating towards Zach's fundraising goal of £200. Every little bit helps make a difference for children affected by this condition. Together, we can help raise awareness and support vital research efforts.
