Story
In 2023, I went to Tanzania and witnessed the profound isolation and inequalities experienced by individuals affected by leprosy. This was a particularly poignant experience for me and inspired my research paper exploring the root causes of disease-related stigma.
Now, as I begin my medical studies at the University of Edinburgh, I am eager to combine my passion for humanitarian work and medicine. I am driven by a commitment to equity and access to healthcare which are values that lie at the heart of Médecins Sans Frontières.
Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation.
They provide emergency assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics and natural or man-made disasters, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
They work in over 70 countries and go to the places where others cannot or choose not to go.
Friends of MSF Edinburgh is taking on the challenge at the EMF 2026 to fundraise like never before! Help us support MSF and smash our target!
