Matilda's Story
Campaign by Just4Children (RCN 1164473)
Just4Children are raising money to help Matilda gain her independence and overcome the challenges of living with Cerebral Palsy. The money raised will go to therapies to help her to hopefully sit, crawl and walk.

Story

We recently found out that Matilda has got a place on the Napa centre 3 week intensive course in December 2025. This is an amazing opportunity for Matilda and we are looking to raise money to go towards these costs. All in, including the cost of the intensive, accommodation and time off work it will cost around £15,000 but we know it will be worth it. We are also taking Matilda to North Carolina to All Kids Are Perfect for some DMI therapy which we are really excited about.

I decided on such a long distance to highlight the biggest problem we have had since getting Matilda’s diagnosis - there are no local physio centres within 30 miles of where we live. This mean on average Matilda has to travel around 120 miles a week for different physio sessions which amounts to around 6 hours in the car.

The Napa intensive will be life changing for Matilda and for us, we would appreciate any donations / support.

I have made a slight change to my plans, this is due to the logistics of running from Hastings to Harlow and the pressure it put on others to be there to support me. It is safer for me to do a marshalled race which is what I am now doing. I was already planning on doing the Hastings half but I am now treating this as a training run which is the 23rd of March 2025. I am hoping to do this in under an hour and 30 minutes. I will then be running from Richmond to Brighton which is 100KM (62 miles) on May the 24th. I am hoping to do this in under 9 hours but if I am honest I haven't got a clue how long it will take. Once I have completed this I can then qualify for a 100 mile race later in the year as you can't do these without proving you can finish a 50 mile race. Apologies I have had a change of plan but it is much safer this way and means I don't have to worry anyone!
