Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

On 16th January 2024 we lost our very close friend & work colleague, Ross Klein, our Assistant Manager.

Ross was only 26 years old and had built himself a very stable happy home life with his young wife and 2 young children, aged 5 and 2.

He was well respected within the UKPS business along with our suppliers and customers alike.

Ross was self-motivated, with a happy demeanour along with a great ambition to progress within the industry which we know he would have achieved.

We at Plumbcity Bedford, believe in supporting the community and therefore, chose C-R-Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young) as our chosen charity.

On 25th September 2025, I will be heading to the Peak District National Park to take on the Edale Skyline Challenge alongside colleagues who will be raising money for their chosen charities as well.

This ultimate long-distance hike will take between 8-10 hours where we will climb to a height of over 4000 feet. Highlights will include views of Ladybower Reservoir, Win Hill, Hope Cross, Kinder Plateau, Crowden Rocks, Mam Tor, The Great Ridge and Lose Hill.

Please help by supporting me in this great cause. However little you can spare - you could help save a young persons life!
