Why I’m fundraising for Anthony Nolan 💚

Hello everyone!

I’ll be doing a fundraiser in the month of October for Antony Nolan. I’ll be walking 50 miles over the course of the month.

This is a cause that is super close to mine and my families hearts as in 2011, my sister, Lauren was diagnosed with Very Severe Aplastic Anaemia in 2011 and needed a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully, she found a matching donor through the stem cell register, and she has been in remission since 2012.

It’s difficult to imagine what our lives would look like now if that person hadn’t been on the register. Someone who didn’t even know my sister made the decision to join, and that person helped give her another chance at life.

Since then, Lauren has recovered and has gone on to live a happy and normal life. She has gotten married, had two beautiful children and has been able to make so many memories that we might not have had if she hadn’t found her match.

That’s why this is so important to me. I want to help Anthony Nolan grow the stem cell register so that more people who are desperately waiting for a match have the chance my sister had.

Because of one person’s decision to join the register, my sister is still here today. I want to help give other families that same hope and the chance to have more time with the people they love.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to me and help give more people the chance to find their match and have another chance at life.
