Story
I’m taking part in the Chiltern Ultra Challenge, a 25km trek through the countryside to raise funds for the Graham Layton Trust (GLT) - a small charity that makes a big impact on the lives of millions of people in Pakistan.
90% of blindness is curable, but due to extreme poverty millions in Pakistan cannot afford treatment and lose not only their sight but their ability to work or provide for their families. For GLT the mission is simple: “No man, woman, or child should go blind just because they cannot afford treatment.” GLT is a vital safety net for those with no access to healthcare, providing the highest quality medical care to combat curable blindness, completely free of charge.
In a world that seems to become more divided every day, what I really value about GLT is that they do not turn anyone away, treating every person they see with compassion and without discrimination.
If you'd like to know more I'd be happy to talk to you about why I believe GLT truly make a meaningful impact to both individual lives, families, and society as a whole.
Any support you are able to provide would really mean a lot to me and my fellow trekkers this weekend. Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page 😊
