Story
The Mental Health Foundation is happy to present our fundraiser Estelle Alais, aka Pop Rock singer 'Zelda Jeane':
My name is Estelle Alais & I care about Mental Health for as long as I can remember. When I was a teenager, I was dreaming of looking up to someone who would openly talk about Mental Health, but back in the days (15 years ago) the topic was still very much tabou.
Nowadays in my early 30s, and as a Pop Rock singer and performer, I want to be the one I was looking for back then. Since then, I went through so much, have seen my loved ones go through so much too, and I have collected diagnoses for the past few years.
Enough is enough, Mental Health should never be tabou and no one should feel scared or ashamed of voicing their struggles or simply asking for help. That's why it is at the heart of everything I do: my songs, my paintings, my poems, my writings, and advocacy online. I have indeed been very open about my own mental health journey online for years now, and you can join me in being vulnerable at @itszeldajeane on instagram and more.
I wanted to sign up for this SkyDive Jump for a few years but I've always been way too scared to do it... Until I realised I will ALWAYS be scared unless I actually do it! Which is a great way of dealing with anxiety, actually! We need more resources and access to treatment and therapy, and I want to be a part of it.
To celebrate my new journey as an artist under the name of my alter ego 'Zelda Jeane' and with an upcoming concept album and songs surrounding many different topics in Mental Health, I decided now was the time to make the jump with this SkyDive experience.
So, if or WHEN I reach my target (£400) and hopefully even more (before mid May), not only will I document my full experience for this jump on my social media and YouTube Channel & the money I will collect through your kind donations for the SkyDive Jump will ALL go directly to the Mental Health Foundation, aiming at helping them deliver vital research and develop solutions to improve prevention and treatment for the 1 in 6 people affected by mental health problems every week;
But I will ALSO release my first song as Zelda Jeane about Mental Health stigmas. The song is called 'Drama Queen' and it is entirely funded by myself - I just thought it could be THE occasion!
Thank you so much for your help,
I cannot wait to start this amazing journey with you.
Estelle AKA Zelda Jeane.
