Story

This January, I’m taking part in the Winter Walk for Endometriosis to help ensure everyone with endometriosis gets the care they deserve.

On 4th December 2024, I had my second surgery for endometriosis.

A little bit of background, I was first diagnosed with endometriosis in 2021 after an emergency operation which also revealed I suffered from the disease and answered so many unanswered questions about my health. Endometriosis was causing pregnancy complications which unfortunately resulted in two losses in the space of six months and put a lot of strain on my body and mental health. During the surgery, I had one of my fallopian tubes removed along with a cyst that had ruptured and put me at risk.

After this surgery, we managed to fall pregnant again with our beautiful daughter Matilda who was born in October 2022.

To support my recovery from my recent surgery and raise awareness of endometriosis, I’ve decided to do my own Winter Walk. I’ll walk from my home to the Cotswold Ward at Southmead Hospital, where I had my laparoscopy.

We are going to take a slightly longer route via Troopers Hill as this place holds a very special place in my heart and who doesn’t want a more scenic route.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition that causes pain and affects 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth. People living with endometriosis often face tough decisions when it comes to diagnosis, treatment, and managing the condition.

Endometriosis UK offers crucial support, reliable information, and campaigns for better treatment and change for those affected.

Thank you for your support!
