Zoe's fundraiser for Lymphoma Action

Brighton Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
Ok here is my story…
Some of you may know that for the last couple of years I have been battling Lymphoma. I had no symptoms or signs of being unwell and the only reason I found out was because I thought I had a hernia in my groin.. after tests and scans my life changed forever! I heard those words you never think you would ever hear… that I had cancer!
The mental and physical pain I have experienced I can’t explain in words, but there have been so many dark times and times I have wanted to give up the fight, but fast forward to now… and after radiotherapy, chemotherapy, transfusions and more tests and scans than I have had hot dinners (and I love food) I am finally in remission! Although there is a chance I will relapse at some point, right now I have my life back! So here I am… taking on a ridiculous challenge to show cancer that I kicked its ass!
Those of you that know me know I’m not a runner, I can just about complete a game of footy (at my age that’s impressive right!) and some have said ‘why don’t you just do half a marathon?’ But I want to take on the biggest challenge I can! I’m no runner, in fact the only thing I can actually run is a bloody bath… but I want to prove that no matter what I have been through I won’t let cancer win!
I will be starting training at the start of September, what that looks like I have no idea other than me moaning a lot and probably thinking ‘what have I set myself up for’ but I have the determination to rock up on April 6th and complete this run… I don’t care how long it takes I just want to cross that line, and in doing so hopefully raise some money and awareness for a charity close to my heart!
I know times are tough for people and we are living in a world where a tin of beans cost more than you can imagine… but any donation would honestly be greatly appreciated! And I promise in return I will smash this challenge!
