The Paddle Skedaddle - a 26.5km (16.5 miles) ‘One-Way Point to Point’ race · 11 May 2024

We are a local charity whose aim is to support teachers in improving literacy standards across Norfolk. We do this by providing trained volunteers to support children's reading on a one-to-one basis within Primary Schools.

Story

Welcome to my Just Giving Page!

On the 11th May 2024, I will be taking part in The Paddle Skedaddle - a 26.5km (16.5 miles) ‘One-Way Point to Point’ race around the northern side of the Norfolk Boards. As someone who likes to challenge myself, I have decided to take on this endurance race despite not being at my peak fitness levels right now. I am nervous but excited to get started and push myself to the limit.

Through this race, I am hoping to raise money for The Norfolk Reading Project - a wonderful charity that is doing all it can to boost the reading ability level of struggling learners across the county. Their trained volunteers go into primary schools and help children further their literacy skills by listening to them read. This work is crucial, especially now as so many young children are behind with their reading development due to the COVID lockdowns.

I am asking for your support in helping me reach my fundraising goal of £500. Every little bit helps and your donation will go towards supporting a very worthy cause that is making a real difference in our community.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering making a donation towards The Norfolk Reading Project.
