Story
I work as an anaesthetist at Sheffield Children's Hospital where I see first-hand the bravery of children facing leukaemia. This summer, that fight became closer to home when my gorgeous 7-year-old niece, Clemmie, was diagnosed with leukaemia. Watching her start treatment with such courage, resilience and positivity has been deeply inspiring.
In August 2026, I’ll embark on an extraordinary challenge: cycling "The Route", where a team of female amateur cyclists will conquer every stage of the 2026 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift (TdFFAZ), just one day ahead of the professionals.
I’m joining The Route 2026 team to raise £10,000 for Cure Leukaemia, an incredible charity funding life-saving research and clinical trials that bring hope to children and adults living with blood cancer. As part of her treatment, Clemmie is receiving a novel drug therapy that would not have been available without this research or clinical trials.
The 2026 Tour de France Femmes will be its longest ever, covering 1,175 km with 18,795m of ascent over nine stages. Starting in Switzerland, finishing in Nice and featuring a summit of the infamous Mont Ventoux - the training is going to be tough!
But this epic journey isn’t just about pushing physical limits—it’s about making a difference. Every pound raised will go directly to Cure Leukaemia, the official UK charity partner of the TdFFAZ. These funds will support the revolutionary ATICUS Network, breaking barriers in clinical trial access for children battling blood cancer and bringing hope to families like Clemmie's across the UK.
I feel both excited and slightly overwhelmed by the challenge ahead — but every kilometre will be powered by the strength and determination of those facing leukaemia every day.
Please help me make a difference by donating and sharing our story. Every pound raised brings us closer to a cure.
Thank you for your support in this journey! x
