Strictly Maggie's 2024

On 17th November, I will take part as a contestant for Maggie's 2024. I can't dance and have two left feet but I am dancing in memory of my darling mama.
Mum was a beautiful dancer. She was a ballroom dancing champion at Billy Martin's in Liverpool with our lovely dad. She would be so proud that her middle aged, overweight daughter with two left feet is choosing to take part in this in her memory. She fought a rare and aggressive cancer for 20 weeks. She went into the arms of the angels on 12th December. During her battle, Maggie's supported us all through her diagnosis, treatment and dealing with her loss.
Mum was a huge supporter of Maggie's. She was a Team Leader for HeadWrappers and delivered sessions at Maggie's for patients who were experiencing hair loss during treatment.
As I prepare for the competition, I need to get fitter so I will be swimming the channel..well not really they channel but the equivalent distance on a swimming pool over the next 10 weeks.
21 miles is 1,352 lengths of a pool. I will complete this before Strictly and any support for my challenge is greatly appreciated
At Maggie’s we help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, with professional support for anything from treatment side effects to money worries. Our support is free, & no appointment or referral is needed. Funding will help us to continue to provide our blend of emotional & practical support for everyone who needs it on the Wirral. We receive no government funding and are proud of the strong community of people who support our centre with fundraising.
I hope I do you proud mama. I love you and miss you so very much xxx
